[PRESS RELEASE] Cultural Festival 2020

President University – Cultural Festival is an event held by President University Student Union (PUSU) which has the purpose to know more knowledge, so they can use it as a preparation for them to learn more and adapt to the cultures abroad.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, CULFEST 2020 was held in the form of a webinar inplace of the normal CULFEST. We invited several speakers from different cultural backgrounds, such as Indonesia, Vietnam, and Russia, thus we can learn more about domestic and abroad cultures. The theme of this years CULFEST is “Adapt to Learn and Learn to Adapt”. We decided to use this theme because in life we should be able to adapt to the environment, if not we will be left far behind. From Cultural Festival, we give the learning materials for people to adapt to other countries (Learn to Adapt). After they get knowledge, they can use it to seek richer knowledge (Adapt to Learn).

CULFEST 2020 also tried something different on our webinar. Instead of just a general room for our speaker, we also provided a breakout room session. We provided 3 rooms which are; Indonesia, Vietnam, and Russia so our participants have the liberty to choose and join their favorite country. Our Indonesian speaker is I Gusti Agung Ngurah Darma Suyasa., C. H. A., as COO FreshWater Asia-Hospitality Solution. For our speaker from Vietnam, we had Nguyen Thao Phuong who is a native Vietnamese as one of the International Student of President University. Lastly, for our Russian speaker she is Putu Ayunda Devi Nirajnani, Miss Pearl of the World 2019. Thankfully this event went very well and we had a lot of excited participants. We hope from this event, all our participants gain a new appreciation for the cultures in and around Indonesia and all across the world. We also hope that from this event all our participants will be able to adapt swiftly and naturally to all the types of different cultures they might encounter in the future.
