PUSU 2023 REGENERATION FORM: ARE YOU THE NEXT LEADER?

When we hear the word “Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa,” or commonly known as BEM, we must already know that BEM is one of the student executive institutions at the higher education level led by a student president or the head of the BEM. In implementing its programs, BEM generally has several ministries, departments, and bureaus. With the spirit of students as agents of change, BEM becomes an institution that can accommodate the aspirations of students who have the passion to make changes in paradigms, including emotional, intellectual, and religious values. Therefore, we can know that the role of BEM on campus is very important. Without BEM, students will find it difficult to express their views to all campus students without an institution that is trusted by campus students.

At President University itself, we can call BEM President University as PUSU, or President University Student Union. PUSU is the second-largest student organization after PUSC (President University Student Council) at President University. President University Student Union (PUSU) is a student organization that has a purpose to enrich the students’ lives during their study at President University with constructive extracurricular activities that support the process of leadership and character building. PUSU itself is divided into 5 ministries: the Ministry of Cabinet Secretary, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Student Activity, the Ministry of Self-Development, and the Ministry of Communication. Each ministry has certain duties and responsibilities in the fields of administration, finance, student activities, communication, and also self-development. Of course, the main goal of PUSU itself is to improve the quality of students at President University, both inside and outside the campus. The five ministries in PUSU have different meanings. The Ministry of Cabinet Secretary is represented by “honor,” which means “when PUSU works with pride and efforts as a student ambassador,” the Ministry of Finance is represented by “integrity,” which means “when honesty and strong moral principles must be upheld by all PUSU’s members,” the Ministry of Self-Development is represented by “unity,” which means “togetherness and unity are what define PUSU as a big family of students,”.

In each ministry of PUSU, there are many activities organized by each ministry. For example, SOPU, or Sport Olympiad President University, is sheltered by the Ministry of Student Activity; DIES Natalis is sheltered by the Ministry of Self Development; Comparative Study is sheltered by the Ministry of Communication, which is also in collaboration with the Ministry of Self Development; as well as Student Orientation and International Student Orientation, which are sheltered by all existing ministries. Each of these activities and works is, of course, overseen by the PUSU President and Vice President. As is known, every PUSU working period is led by certain cabinets, such as the Valor Cabinet 2021, the Revolution Cabinet 2020, the Rise Cabinet 2019, etc., so that in 2022, PUSU itself is led by the Legacy Cabinet, which has the motto “Take action, make a legacy,” of course with its own vision and mission in achieving the dreams and goals of the Legacy Cabinet in PUSU 2022.

Each PUSU activity has a goal, namely to create better character and quality in President University students, both academically and non-academically. Therefore, Presunivers has very high hopes for PUSU as a representative body of students in intellectual, paradigmatic, and religious aspects. PUSU serves as a bridge between students and the campus body, representing students’ opinions, rights, and obligations. Therefore, the PUSU members themselves have a very big responsibility in carrying out their duties and obligations for PUSU and also for Presunivers. Therefore, PUSU itself needs support from President University students and also from the campus so that PUSU programs and activities are carried out for students to improve the character and quality of Presunivers inside and outside campus.
